India Innovation Index 2019- NITI Aayog

 


The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) has recently launched the first-ever India Innovation Index 2019, the idea behind which is to analyse the Innovation at the state level. The ranking in the Index is done, keeping in mind the major factors such as the opportunities that the state has, challenges that are faced, the innovation capability of a state, and the actions taken to implement that innovation. The Index is based on seven major attributes, which include human capital, investment, knowledge workers, knowledge output, etc. Leading the Index by a score of 35.65, Karnataka is in the first position followed by Tamil Nadu with 32.98 and Maharashtra with a score of 29.93. Amongst the Union Territories, Delhi is placed at the top position. Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar and CEO Amitabh Kant of NITI Aayog launched the India Innovation Index.

 

Air Force of India and Oman begins Joint Exercise ‘Ex-Eastern Bridge-V’

 


Indian Air Force (IAF) and Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) has planned to organize a Bilateral Joined Exercise: ‘Ex- Eastern Bridge-V’ at the Air Force Base Masirah in Oman. Previously this type of exercise was organized in India at Jamnagar Base in 2017, and this time on 26th October 2019, MiG-29 Fighter Aircraft will be participating in the exercise for the first time with RAFO’s Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16, and Hawk. The joint exercise will definitely enhance the inter-operability and will lay out great opportunities to learn for both the nations.

 

APPSC directed by state govt. to eliminate PI for staff recruitment 

 

 

 

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has been directed by the State Government to eliminate personal interviews for staff recruitment to make the selection more transparent and foolproof. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken this historic step and limit the process to Written Exam only in a review meeting and also announced that the recruitment tests will now be conducted from 1st to 31st January every year.
