Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) in Northern Bay of Bengal



A bilateral exercise between the two Navies of India and Bangladesh is being organized from 12th October 2019 till 16th October 2019 at Visakhapatnam. The two-nation is all set to organize the second edition of a two-day Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) in the Northern Bay of Bengal. The drill is being organized a week after the Bangladesh Prime Minister came to India for a visit and held a Bilateral Summit along with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The exercise will be the first step in deepening the relations between the two nations. Indian Naval ships: INS Ranvijay (Rajput-Class Destroyer) and INS Kuthar (Khurki-Class Corvette) will be in pursuit along with the Bangladesh Naval Ship: BNS Ali Haider (Leopard-Class)and BNS Shadinota (Corvette-Class) for the CORPAT exercise.


Union Health Minister presents Kayakalp Awards 



Kayakalp Awards Scheme: launched by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2015, which aims at improving hygiene in health institutions across the nation. The main objective of this scheme is promoting how much cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices are necessary for the public health care institutes, to honor and recognize those institutes who adheres the protocols and show exemplary performance and to asses and review the performance of the centers whether they are following the regulations or not. This initiative would definitely lead to the positive health outcomes and would serve the “Swachh Bharat” initiative- said the Ministry. This time, All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi backed the first prize and received a cash prize of Rs 3 crore and Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry came second and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1.5 crore. These awardees are selected among the various Central Government, District, Community and the private Heath Care Centers who are maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene.


Nobel Peace Prize: 2019

 

 

 

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, who worked to end the old border dispute between Ethiopia and its neighbour Eritrea, was honored with The Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2019. The two nations were in a war from 1988 to 2000, and by the peacemaking efforts of the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the war came to an end. Abiy Ahmed Ali is the fourth Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia from April 2018, and just after his three months of service he started working on the peace processes along with the Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and was successful to end the war.
