Indian Air quality Interactive Repository- IndAIR



The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) recently launched the country’s first interactive online repository named IndAIR (Indian Air quality Interactive Repository) which is made with an aim to make air quality research and studies in an easily accessible web format for the public, media, researchers and academics. The repository is set to document all the studies related to Air Quality in the last 60 years and consists of a total 262 studies concerning the nation’s capital, Delhi-NCR.

India Justice Report 2019



Recently India Justice Report 2019 has been released by Tata Trusts with the collaboration with the Center of Social Justice, Common Cause, the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS). According to the report, Uttar Pradesh has been reported the worst in delivering Justice to its people, which is followed by Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttrakhand. The report examined the standards for delivering justice that was promised and provided by the states and union territories based on four pillars: police, prisons, judiciary, and legal aid. Dividing the states of India into two categories; Large-Medium States having the population count greater than 1cr, and Small States and Union Territories having population countless that 1cr. Among the Large Medium States, Maharashtra is placed first in the list followed by Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Haryana. While among the Small States and UTs Goa topped in the list followed by Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh where as Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram were ranked very low.


‘Samudra Shakti’ : India-Indonesia joint naval exercise



India and Indonesia are set to hold a bilateral Naval Exercise labeled “Samudra Shakti” on 6th and 7th November 2019 at the Bay of Bengal. This will be the second time the two nations are going to hold such bilateral exercise. The first edition of such exercise was held in November 2018 at the port of Surabaya, Indonesia. The key objective of this joint military exercise is to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two nations, expand maritime co-operation and exchange the experiences the two navies have. In the exercise, this time, INS Kamorta, India’s anti-submarine warfare corvette, is jointly exercising with Indonesian warship KRI Usman Harun, a multi-role corvette and the exercise will include weapon firing drills, maneuvers, air defense exercises, surface warfare exercises, helicopter operations and boarding operations.
