 VP Naidu visits Comoros & Sierra Leone



Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will be on a visit for 5 days to two African Countries- Comoros & Sierra Leone with a motive to enhance the bilateral relation between India and theses African countries. External Affairs Ministry said that it would be the first time that India will be having a High-Level visit to the countries having a priority to enhance India-Africa relations. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu along with Comoros’ President Azali Assoumani will hold a bilateral meeting discussing the global issues and will also communicate with the Indian community during the visit and while he will be in Sierra Leone, there will also be a bilateral meeting along with the President of Sierra Leone, Speaker of Sierra Leone Parliament and the country’s foreign minister.


City Walk Festival in Madhya Pradesh

 

 

 

City Walk festival is going to be organized in the 11 cities of Madhya Pradesh by the Tourism Board of Madhya Pradesh from 12th October 2019. It will be a month-long festival covering the 11 cities: Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha, Chanderi, Burhanpur, Indore, Panna, Ujjain, Orchha, Khajuraho, and Jabalpur, where more than 100 city walks will be held having local, national and international participants from all age group participating in various categories. These 100 city walks will have interesting subjects including heritage, food, art, culture, photography, textile, etc. In the festival, the participants will witness and know about the glorious history, natural beauty, traditions, ancient-rich heritage of Madhya Pradesh, giving employment opportunities to the locals.


2019 Nobel Prize for Medicine



William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza have done a revolution by discovering of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability which has been proved to be an important theory in physiology and will definitely help fight major diseases such as cancer, anemia, and many more. For this revolutionary discovery, the Nobel Committee has approved as well as announced the three scientists to honor them with Nobel Prize in the field Medicine or Physiology with a cash award of 9 million Kronor ($9,18,000) which will be equally divided. William G. Kaelin Jr works in Harvard University and the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute as a professor, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe is a physician-scientist trained as a Nephrologist and is the director of the Target Discovery Institute and is best known for his research on cellular reaction to hypoxia, and Gregg L. Semenza is a professor of biological chemistry, oncology, pediatrics, medicine, and radiation oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
