Aditya Mishra- New Chairman of Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI)

A new Chairman of Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) is appointed by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet on the recommendation of the search-cum-selection panel. Senior IPS Officer Aditya Mishra is now going to take over the position of the Chairman for five years from the date of assumption of charge. The newly appointed Chairman Aditya is a 1989 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh Cadre.

Asian Development Bank to provide loan for Chennai- Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) Project

Asian Development Bank is going to provide a loan of $451 Million (Rs. 3200 crores) to strengthen the power connectivity between the southern and the northern part of Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) in Tamil Nadu. The total cost for the same is approximately $653.5 Million, and the difference of $202.5 Million is going to be funded by the Government of India. The main objective of the CKIC project is to construct transmission links from Virudhnagar (southern CKIC) towards Coimbatore and Chennai (northern CKIC), covering about 23 districts of Tamil Nadu.

Guinness Worlds Record by Kolkata Students for Largest Astrophysics Assemble

On the First day itself of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019, Students of Kolkata has made a new Guinness Worlds Record by making the largest Astrophysics lesson (45 Minutes) and assembly of Spectroscopes. The Officials said that 490 students participated, and out of them, 268 succeeded in completing the assembly process. IISF is known to be the largest Science festival in the world.
