Agreements signed between India and Bangladesh to structure Coastal Surveillance Radar System.
Coastal Surveillance System Radar is to be structured in Bangladesh for which India and Bangladesh have agreed upon seven pacts in an MoU, which both the counties have signed for the same. The system is said to be strong support for the expansion of network connectivity corridors in accordance with the Delhi’s Indo-Pacific strategies with Dhaka and will also help in the reduction in the spread of terrorism via seas. Other agreements such as the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) on the use Chattogram and Mongla Ports for the Movement of goods back and forth from India to Bangladesh and the usage of and withdrawal of water(1.82 cusec) from Feni River for the drinking water supply scheme in Tripura was also a part of the pact inked by the two countries. The agreement also stated the implementation of the line of credit, which India committed to Bangladesh. The MoU was signed after the summit, which was held in India where Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also present.
UN reports states, Myanmar not safe for Rohingyas to reside back
Rohingyas are the community that does not has any state and are Indo-Aryan ethnic groups who reside in Rakhine(a state in Myanmar). Before the 2016-17 crisis, according to an estimate, around 1 Million Rohingyas use to live in Myanmar, and after the crisis, around 6,25,000 refugees crossed Myanmar border and went to Bangladesh. According to the UN report by an investigator (Yangshee Lee) in which he stated that it is still not safe for the Rohingyas to reside in Myanmar as the system of prosecution of Rohingyas has been failed, and the living conditions there are dreadful. According to the report, the conflict between the guerilla group(Arakan Army) and the Government is still not over and suggested the UN members sanction the companies which were owned by the Myanmar Military officials which were the cause for the suffering of Rohingyas from 2011.
CSIR worked on green crackers
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is working on the most important issue of the world, which is global warming and climate change, for which they are developing one of a kind green crackers and are successful in developing the same. They reduced the particulate matter by 30% using potassium nitrate as an oxidant knowing the amount of pollution threat and health problems caused by it. The manufacturing for these types of crackers is made legal for which the firework manufacturers have to agree to 230 MoUs and around 165 Non-disclosure agreements in relation to the production, which is structured by the Government. Minister of Science and Technologies launched the “Green Crackers” on 5th October 2019 and said that these crackers will cost the same as the old ones or even more cheaper and will produce the same level of sound and light.
