BAFTA and Scotland Awards presented to a documentary on Real Kashmir Football Club
The famous documentary on the Real Kashmir Football Club portraying the journey of the Former Ranger Ace David Robertson as the coach of the Real Kashmir Football Club, has bagged the Prestigious British Academy of Films and Television Award (BAFTA) as well as the Scotland Awards at a ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland. The Documentary is an hour-long film and has won the award in the category of “Single Documentary”. The football team under the coaching of David Robertson finished third in the I-League, which is currently India’s second-tier football league.

Madhuri Vijay receives JCB Prize for Literature 2019
“The Far Field” by Madhuri Vijay has been honored with the JCB Prize for Literature 2019. The Novel was shortlisted by the jury of five accomplished writers: Anjum Hasan, Pradip Krishen, K R Meera, Parvati Sharma, Arvind Subramanian. The Novel The far Field poignantly internalizes the turbulent politics of Kashmir as Vijay’s supporter Shalini took off for a journey to the mountains from her and the author's hometown. JCB Prize for Literature 2019 is also the richest literary honour in the nation as the award comprises a cash prize of Rs 25 Lakh, and apart from this if the novel has been translated from English to another language, the author of the novel is additionally awarded a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. Last year the award was bagged by the novel Jasmine Days by Benyamin which was translated from Malayalam by Shahnaz Habib.
Lakshya Sen wins SaarLorLux Open Badminton Tournament
Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen has won the SaarLorLux Open Badminton Tournament at Saarbrücken in Germany by defeating Sen Weng Hong Yang of China in the finals of the tournament in just 59 minutes. Lakshya Sen is in the 51st position in the World Badminton Ranking. The 18-year-old shuttler entered the finals beating Kiran George.
